Tuesday, 14th November 2017
9.30am - 4.00pm
Coventry University, Priory Street, Coventry, CV1 5FB.
Come along to this insightful mhealth event with speakers from industry, public health and academia showcasing their use of behavioural science in today’s apps! Hosted by Dr Kristina Curtis, Coventry University & Jolel Miah, Health Psychology Public Health Network.
Mobile and wireless health, known as ‘mHealth’ have the potential to improve health outcomes through a number of elements such as: increasing access to health services, aiding behaviour change, enhancing diagnostics, supporting people in taking a more active role in their own health, improving treatment, reducing disparities and significantly reducing health costs.
Continuous data collection in real time of behavioural, biological and environmental data will help to improve our understanding of the etiology of health biomarkers as well as allowing us to gain broader understanding of which behaviour change techniques are effective in this medium.
The ubiquitous nature of smartphones, their global proliferation, their ability to tailor information and the familiarity users have with responding to alerts and entering data, mean they hold significant potential to ameliorate major public health issues.
